Starting in March 2023, the PERINAT project received fundings from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) for 4 years.
PERINAT is a project carried out by researchers at the University of Lille in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II and the University of Birmingham.
Improving the communication experience of bereaved parents
- Observing bereaved parents' narrative by means of semi-guided interviews on their experience of loss.
- Identifying the linguistic aspects that characterise the narrative of bereaved parents: metaphorical constructions and cases of lexical innovation (neologisms).
- Developing awareness of bereaved parents' metaphoric speech as a way of giving further insight to healthcare practitioners.
- Promoting respectful discursive practices surrounding perinatal death among healthcare practitioners and in the workplace.
